Bite-Sized 'A Court of Thorns and Roses' Series Reviews
A Court of Thorns and Roses will forever be a series I adore. I grew up reading fantasy and this got me back into that genre as an adult! It is an easy world to understand with characters you will fall in love with. Be prepared to love Rhysand more than the actual men in your life!

A beauty and the beast retelling with hot faeries and a deadly curse! This book made me fall in love with fantasy again! It is an easy read that seems straightforward on the surface. But as you continue on in the series you catch the intricate details the author wove into this first installment. It’s not even close to my favorite of the series, but it is the perfect set up for what is to come.

This book has my heart and soul in a chokehold. It is a story of a broken woman’s journey to healing and finding love in an unexpected way. It is a steamy buildup of desire and longing. It’s finding a family. It’s Velaris, a place you wish were real. It is absolute perfection! I read this book way too fast and wish I could read it for the first time every time.

My favorite of the series hands down (and that’s saying a lot because ACOMF has my heart). This is a story about knowing who you are, what you deserve, and what is worth fighting for. It is about deep, unfailing love. This is the book that will shatter your emotional wellbeing. You will cry, and laugh, and feel. The war that has been built up across the first two books reaches a climax! Sacrifices are made and you will never be the same again. It sounds like I’m being dramatic, but I’m not!

A Court of Frost and Starlight
“To the blessed darkness from which we are born, and to which we return.”
This novella is beautiful! It’s a breath of fresh air from all the heartbreak and war that was the first three books. We see how they are coping with the aftermath of the destruction and adjusting to a sense of normalcy in Velaris. This book does not have a big plot. But after everything they have been through, the characters need a little space to just be. It was a good transition into the next book.
A Court of Silver Flames
“She would not be mastered by anything again. She was the master of herself.”
I hate that I didn’t like the majority of this book, but it didn’t feel like the story and characters I had grown to love. This book is written from the perspective of Nesta (who I can’t stand) and Cassian (who I love). My main issue was that the main plot was sex. And not in the “yes the characters I want are finally together” kind of way, but more like “can I stop reading page after page after page of their sexcapades.” It cheapened the story and the characters. The last 200 pages or so are where I felt the book had an actual interesting storyline. Until that point, I was trudging through.

A Court of (We Don’t Know Yet)
Sarah J. Maas has announced that there will be a sixth book! So the series is not over yet! We don’t know what or who the book will be about, but fans are already speculating. Will it be about Azriel? This is my hope. Fingers crossed this shadow daddy finally gets a pov. Or Elain. Please don’t be about Elain. She is so boring I could cry. Either way, we will get more of the characters and world we have grown to love!
